SOUP FROM LOCAL CHEFS!
A benefit for the art and music programs at Synergy Services’
Youth Resiliency Center, presented by Synergy Services Junior Board.
This event includes fun, drinks, a raffle and a delicious sample of soup from local restaurants. Each guest also gets to take an amazing art piece created by the young people Synergy serves!
All proceeds from Art Soup go directly to support the Art and Music Therapy programs at Synergy Services Youth Resiliency Center. These programs provide a lifeline to hundreds of young people seeking refuge from homelessness, abuse and many other life struggles. These young people are not only provided with a creative outlet free of charge, but they’re able to face and overcome their challenges.

The mission of Operation Breakthrough is to provide a safe, loving and educational environment for children in poverty and to empower their families through advocacy, emergency aid and education.
Trezo Maré will donate 15% of your food & beverage total to CODE 1 DREAM MAKERS Oct 9 - Oct 15, when you mention your support
“I would be blessed to get the opportunity to win this. I would gift it to a police officer and his wife,” was the comment left by Nicole Crabtree on a Facebook contest post. As the winner, Nicole gifted the dinner for two she had won to a KC Metro Police Officer, Matt McCombs and his wife Mandra.
Nicole informed us that the couple, “deserve a nice dinner and an evening out because they do so much for others through their charity.”
Officer McCombs along with Sgt. Marcus Burke, co-founded Code 1 Dream Makers, a non-profit organization established by a group of first responders and their spouses, to help make dreams come true for local children (and adults) with terminal illnesses. Mandra McCombs organizes and coordinates fundraisers for the organization.
The officers were inspired by a young child they had met who had been diagnosed with cancer and had undergone several surgeries and cancer treatments. Caden McGuire was 6 at the time and the officers made it their mission to find ways to bring joy into the child’s life.
Their experience with Caden became the inspiration to reach out and touch as many lives as possible and help bring a smile to the faces of those suffering and battling life threatening illnesses.
Code 1 Dream Makers currently focuses on the greater KC Metro area but they hope to one day expand throughout the country. They receive funds by hosting fundraising events and through sponsors.
Trezo Maré had the opportunity to visit with Matt and Mandra McCombs, when the couple accepted the gift that was graciously offered to them by Nicole Crabtree. We wish to help raise awareness for Code 1 Dream Makers by hosting a week-long fundraiser.
"This is a difficult month for us," said Officer McCombs. Caden McGuire passed away in his home on October 23, 2015, due to complications following a long battle with cancer. He was 11.
Dine with Purpose for Code 1 at Trezo begins Oct 9, thru Oct 15. Mention your support and 15% of your total (including alcoholic beverages) will be donated to Code 1 Dream Makers.
Trezo Maré is located in The Village at Briarcliff.

Hillcrest Transitional Housing offers homeless families, singles & youth a disciplined educational program within a caring, supportive environment. Unlike many organizations whose focus is one-time or emergency care, Hillcrest’s primary objective is to move clients from homelessness to self-sufficiency within 90 days by addressing the total life situation of the homeless families they serve. In exchange for rent/utility-free housing, adults are required by written agreement to find full-time employment, obey program guidelines and attend weekly volunteer-taught classes in life skills, employment, community living and budgeting. Through a network of community supporters & funders, Hillcrest also may provide to clients in the transitional housing programs the following: auto repair/donation, food pantry, medical assistance, dental work, GED classes, haircuts, glasses, school clothes, work uniforms, etc.
