DINE with PURPOSE at Trezo Maré
A Fundraiser for CODE 1 DREAM MAKERS
Beginning Sunday, October 9, through Saturday, October 15, Trezo Maré will donate 15% of your total food & beverage to CODE 1 DREAM MAKERS when you mention your support
“I would be blessed to get the opportunity to win this. I would gift it to a police officer and his wife,” was the comment left by Nicole Crabtree on a Facebook contest post. As the winner, Nicole gifted the dinner for two she had won to a KC Metro Police Officer, Matt McCombs and his wife Mandra.
Nicole informed us that the couple, “deserve a nice dinner and an evening out because they do so much for others through their charity.”
Officer McCombs along with Sgt. Marcus Burke, co-founded Code 1 Dream Makers, a non-profit organization established by a group of first responders and their spouses, to help make dreams come true for local children (and adults) with terminal illnesses. Mandra McCombs organizes and coordinates fundraisers for the organization.
The officers were inspired by a young child they had met who had been diagnosed with cancer and had undergone several surgeries and cancer treatments. Caden McGuire was 6 at the time and the officers made it their mission to find ways to bring joy into the child’s life.
Their experience with Caden became the inspiration to reach out and touch as many lives as possible and help bring a smile to the faces of those suffering and battling life threatening illnesses.
Code 1 Dream Makers currently focuses on the greater KC Metro area but they hope to one day expand throughout the country. They receive funds by hosting fundraising events and through sponsors.
Trezo Maré had the opportunity to visit with Matt and Mandra McCombs, when the couple accepted the gift that was graciously offered to them by Nicole Crabtree. We wish to help raise awareness for Code 1 Dream Makers by hosting a week-long fundraiser.
"This is a difficult month for us," said Officer McCombs. Caden McGuire passed away in his home on October 23, 2015, due to complications following a long battle with cancer. He was 11.

DINE WITH PURPOSE AT TREZO AND Show Your Support For Hillcrest Transitional Living
Beginning Friday, May 20 - Thursday, May 26, dine with us any time of day and mention your support for Hillcrest and Trezo Maré will donate 15% of your entire check back to Hillcrest.
Hillcrest Transitional Housing offers homeless families, singles & youth a disciplined educational program within a caring, supportive environment. Unlike many organizations whose focus is one-time or emergency care, Hillcrest’s primary objective is to move clients from homelessness to self-sufficiency within 90 days by addressing the total life situation of the homeless families they serve. In exchange for rent/utility-free housing, adults are required by written agreement to find full-time employment, obey program guidelines and attend weekly volunteer-taught classes in life skills, employment, community living and budgeting. Through a network of community supporters & funders, Hillcrest also may provide to clients in the transitional housing programs the following: auto repair/donation, food pantry, medical assistance, dental work, GED classes, haircuts, glasses, school clothes, work uniforms, etc.

Synergy’s clients represent a broad cross-section of the population spanning gender, age, race and six county lines in Kansas and MIssouri. Most often, clients have annual family incomes of less than $25,000, making it difficult to access the variety of services they need through traditional means. We provide these services, which are so critical to the well-being of the family and community, to anyone that needs them regardless of ability to pay. --From Synergy's About Page.

Trezo Mare Donates Christmas Dinner as Part of Mix 93.3's "Single Parent Santa" 2015
Mike Lee and Erin Dolan from Trezo Mare with Rocket from Mix 93.3.
Trezo Mare’s owner and General Manager, Mike Lee, donates Christmas Dinner to Mix 93.3’s “Single Parent Santa” 2015 recipient, Jessica Camp. Jessica was nominated by her friend Ann Dorsey, who sent a heartfelt letter to the station describing the traumatic story of the single mother of two, who while driving was hit by an uninsured drunk driver. Jessica and her cousin (also in the car) were both injured and unable to work, leaving them in a desperate situation. Jessica, who had recently adopted her three siblings under difficult circumstances, invited her cousin and two children, to move into her home. With two adults and seven children, Jessica persevered under enormous financial stress.
Dorsey’s letter touched the hearts of everyone at Mix 93.3 and chose Jessica Camp to become the recipient of “Single Parent Santa” 2015. Jessica received an unexpected on-air call from Rocket and Teresa of Mix 93.3, moving her to tears as they informed her that she would be receiving a new car from Matt Ford, gift cards from local sponsors, and a complete Christmas Dinner prepared by chefs from Trezo Mare restaurant.

TREZO SPONSORS Pianos on Parade
Trezo Maré is proud to sponsor Pianos On Parade 2015. Pianos on Parade (POP) places 'artistically transformed' pianos around Kansas City in various outdoor locations for all to play and enjoy. In order to celebrate 100 years of excellence for the Kansas City Music Teachers Association, our goal is to place 100 pianos around our city during the summer of 2015.
Kids and professional artists will paint these pianos at Union Station on May 23-24th, 2015. These pianos will play host to both spontaneous and planned events and concerts throughout the summer. Other pianos will be on tour and will pop up at various outdoor fairs, festivals, restaurant patios, and sporting events.
For more information, visit Pianos on Parade!
Be sure to look for the Piano during, "25 Years of Briarcliff Music Festival" on June 27. Headlining will be The Elders and Victor & Penny and the Loose Change Orchestra: http://thenewvillageatbriarcliff.com/events/event/25-years-at-briarcliff/
